Built by the German automaker BMW in Regesburg and Leipzig, Germany. The BMW 1 Series is a small size luxury car and is the only car in its class featuring rear wheel drive and a longitudinally mounted engine. It was first launched to the market in 2004, replacing the BMW 3 Series Compact range.
1 Series Coupe

On September 29 2007, the 1 Series Convertible officially debuted. The BMW 1 Series Convertible is for those whose define the pure driving pleasure. A responsive six cylinders engine with rear drive chassis to provide balance, sporty dynamics is the heart of this vehicle. Powered by BMW's 3.0 liter, 230 horsepower engine generating 200 lb-ft of torque. The 1 Series Convertible gives the driver and passenger comfort. The optional Boston leather incorporates BMW's Sun Reflective Technology mitigate the effect of the ultraviolet rays. The 1 Series Convertible's standard modes: gentle, medium and intensive, react primarily to interior sensors, while the convertible mode reacts less to interior temperature and more to the exterior temperature and sunlight factors to establish the intensity of the ventilation. The four standard airbags in the BMW 1 series Convertible are designed for the maximum protection of the driver. The frontal airbags are activated when the car severity impacts, while the side airbags integrated into the sides of the front seat reduce the chest, hip and head injury risk. The 1 Series Convertible also comes with crash-optimized seats with specially padded headrests and backrests designed to reduce the risk of injury in an impact from the rear.
