Lamborghini Murciélago
The Lamborghini Murciélago is a super sports car produced by Italian automaker Lamborghini and designed by Luc Donckerwolke. The Lamborghini Murciélago was introduced in 2001 and is a two-door, two-seat coupe. The Lamborghini automaker built 50 special edition Murciélagos during the autumn of 2003 to celebrate the company's 40 year in operation. The name Murciélago means bat, comes from a bull that survived 24 sword strokes in a fight at the arena of Córdoba in 1879.
Murciélago LP640 (Longitudinale Posteriore)
It was first shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2006 as a facelift for the coupe version. Just like the base Murciélago, the engine is mounted backwards, with the transmission in front of the engine and the differential behind it, instead of a transaxle normally seen on mid-engine cars. Inside, the seating has been reshaped to accommodate greater headroom, while the instrument panel is flanked by an improved stereo system. In the film's sequel The Dark Knight, Bruce Wayne drives a grey LP640. The Lamborghinis were noted to be an indirect inspiration for the modern Batmobile as Murciélago is the Spanish word for Bat.
Murciélago LP640 Versace
The Murciélago LP640 Versace was presented at the Paris International Auto Show, it is a special edition version of the LP640 coupe with all the same performance features. The only difference is the two tone white black trim, show on both the exterior and interior of the car. Lamborghini have announce that they only produced 20 units of the model.
Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT
The Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT is a race only version, developed jointly with Reiter Engineering and Audi Sport. Unlike the standard Murciélago, this model has rear-wheel drive to comply with the FIA, ACo, and JAF rules. It is the same of standard Murciélago V12, but it has air restrictors to manage power.
