Kate Beckinsale, petite and beautiful, with dark hair and flashing eyes, she made a strong film debut as the Virginal Hero in Much Ado About Nothing in 1993. Although she was a screen novice at first, the actress Kate Beckinsale projected the star quality and requisite intelligence. As the daughter of Richard Beckinsale who died when Kate was five years old because of a heart attack and actress Judy Loe, it was inevitable that she would eventually find her way to the limelight as a celebrity. Kate Beckinsale, however, spent a good portion of her teen years struggling with an eating disorder or Anorexia nervosa before she decided to try her capability at acting.
Kate Beckinsale was born on July 26 1973 in London, England. Kate attended the private Godolphin and Latymer School in London. Having gained A levels for three languages, Kate Beckinsale studied French and Russian literature at Oxford, but she did not finish her degree. She thought that having an academic background studying foreign language and literature would broaden her acting roles range.
The beautiful and attractive actress finally had a shot at more mainstream success in two high profile leading roles in 2001, Pearl Harbor and Serendipity. But her highest profile role came in Underworld which Kate played as Selene, a vampire lady known as a Death Dealer and Scott Speedman played as Michael Corvin, a medical student who is unaware that he carries the rare Corvinus Strain in his blood which made him a hybrid, Vampire-Lycan (werewolf). Kate Beckinsale followed up with another action supernatural thriller, playing with Hugh Jackman in Van Helsing, which Kate played as Anna Valerious, a vampire slayer and Hugh Jackman played as Gabriel Van Helsing.
